Day 12
In the evening Charlotte went to the airport to meet her mum and aunt who are visiting for a week. We chilled at TemboTamu, playing some games and chilling with more beers.
They then spent most of the day preparing a meal for us all to eat in the evening.
This included making coconut milk to go in the dishes and making chapati.
They also made a banana and beef stew and sardine and tomato one.
And also ugali and “mboga” (greens) and vegetable and potato stew.
Emma and Robbie spent the morning at TemboTamu and then joined Pete and I for lunch.
We spent some time with Robert planning which schools we would support in Moshi and making arrangements to visit them. Later Robert gathered some of the staff together so we could present Ally with his prize, as he had not been at the retreat to receive it.
This afternoon we walked back to TemboTamu, stopping at Keys Hotel for a beer on the way.
Later we ate the lovely meal that Caf and Si had cooked. The food was amazing, they had done a brilliant job.
After our busy day yesterday we all slept late. Today was Sunday and so Frank, Tony and Charlotte were all around. We ate breakfast listening to the church singing nearby.
This morning we chilled, playing with Tony and finishing building the Lego airport.
There was a little excitement mid morning when the 2 dogs escaped from their enclosure but Pete soon caught them and put them back. Around 2pm we went to Mimosa Bar for some lunch and beers. Emma was very happy as they did chocolate ice cream.
In the evening Charlotte went to the airport to meet her mum and aunt who are visiting for a week. We chilled at TemboTamu, playing some games and chilling with more beers.
Later we ordered some pizza. It had been a lovely relaxed day, so we were then ready for the busy week ahead.
Day 13
So today we had all decided to do different things.
Simon and Caf had arranged to have a cooking lesson with Mary at TemboTamu. In the morning they went by tuktuk to the local market to buy the ingredients they needed to cook a traditional Tanzanian meal.
They then spent most of the day preparing a meal for us all to eat in the evening.

Emma and Robbie spent the morning at TemboTamu and then joined Pete and I for lunch.
After breakfast Pete and I had walked down to Actt. Whilst there was not much rain during the day now there was still a lot over night and the roads were still very muddy.
We spent some time with Robert planning which schools we would support in Moshi and making arrangements to visit them. Later Robert gathered some of the staff together so we could present Ally with his prize, as he had not been at the retreat to receive it.
It was then lunchtime and we went round to Mama Irene’s for some food where we met up with Robbie and Emma. Mama Irene now rents a small kitchen at the front of the CCM building, where she prepares and sells food. Lunch was very good.
This afternoon we walked back to TemboTamu, stopping at Keys Hotel for a beer on the way.
By the time we got back Si and Caf had just finished cooking and so we had some drinks on the terrace and discussed our days.
Later we ate the lovely meal that Caf and Si had cooked. The food was amazing, they had done a brilliant job.
